Client Spotlight: Lisa

Lisa is full of grit and determination. I love this woman to pieces.

Once a month, one of our Lingle Fitness clients get to shine in all of the internet light. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Lisa in this month's CLIENT SPOTLIGHT! Last September, Lisa and I met over coffee and she decided that she'd give training with me a try. Many workouts and coffees later, Lisa has become much more than a client, she's a friend. I'm not sure what we enjoy more, our workouts or our coffee. (Honestly, it's probably coffee with workouts coming in a very close second.)

Lisa also has a knack for renaming exercises; currently she's handed out the monickers of "The Beyonce's" (Halos), "Trauma Pulls", "Pterodactyls," and so many more that make a chalenging exercise a bit more entertaining.

I'm incredibly elated that you get to learn more about Lisa in her own words!

Are you a Charleston native? If not what brought you to Charleston?

"No, I moved to Charleston from Brooklyn, NY but I am originally from Canada."

There are so many lovable qualities about Lisa, and her being Canadian makes all of them so much better, mostly because I'm from Buffalo - which basically makes me Canadian by proxy.

If you had to eat at one restaurant for the rest of your days, which one would you choose?

"I don't think I can answer this question. Favorites include: EVO, Bowens Island, Basic Kitchen, Moes and all the coffee joints (Muddy Waters, Collective, Harbinger, Browns Court)."

High-fives to Muddy and the Harb. Lisa always seems to be on the pulse of the best places in Charleston. She's quite the socialite. ;)

What’s your favorite place in Charleston and what makes it so special?

"Hard to pick one -- maybe, Station 28 1/2 - Sullivan's Island. Watching the sun drop at Bowens."

Beach sunsets are the best.

How did you hear about Lingle Fitness?

"From Larry Downey at Low Country Local First."

Many thanks to Larry & LLF for the connection!

How many days a week do you train with Erin?

Lisa is incredibly consistent, and as long as travel doesn't take her away from Charleston - you can find her killing it at Exemplar.

What do you do for work and how do you fit your personal training sessions into your schedule?

"I own an Artist Management company. I meet Erin in the AM before my work day starts."

What’s your favorite exercise and why?

"All the arm/weight exercises. I think because I'm seeing so much progress in that area. Also leg presses!"

Can I give a Shout Out to Lisa right here? She is incredibly strong and isn't afraid to lift heavier weights. If it's leg press day, please step aside.

What’s your least favorite exercise and why?

"Lunges. I find them difficult and painful! : )"

But, they hurt soooooooo good!

What are your fitness goals?

The Big Goal: Lisa wanted to make exercise part of her life (which she absolutely has done).

And the rest of the internet doesn't get to know the other goals.

Have you accomplished any of these goals? If so, how did you do it?

"I have been able to make exercise a regular part of my life which was the main goal."

Thank you for trusting me with your fitness journey!

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

"Night owl."

And yet, she's always on time and bright-eyed for her AM workouts.

What’s the best part of your day and why?

"Coffee and/or catching up with friends."

One of my favorite parts about my day is getting coffee with this fabulous woman.

What songs or artists get you pumped up?

"Phoenix is really good for working out -- all of the songs."

Y'all, Lisa made a playlist for this post. I'm not saying that you have to listen to it, but you'd be a fool if you didn't. Check. It. Out.

Where is the coolest place you’ve traveled and what made it so cool?

"Joshua Tree, California for it's otherworldliness."

What’s the quote that defines your life?

"The only rule is work. If you work it will lead to something. It’s the people who do all of the work all of the time who eventually catch on to things". - Sister Corita Kent

Any final thoughts to share with your fans?

"The more you are able to conquer exercise tasks that felt insurmountable, the more confidence you build to conquer things in other areas of your life."

Couldn't agree more!

Lisa gives everything she's got during every workout. If there's one thing you need to know about Lisa is that her willpower is unbreakable!

If you want to know how much Lisa can lift or her favorite coffee concoction, hit me up. You might have to sign a NDA for that information, but it's worth a shot.
